Untrue. By his own admission, Peter Gransee caused ARC to fail through his poor business practices such as not paying the company's bills.

Any information on new Dolphin Torch? (Australia)

The Sea Beam is the US version of the Dolphin 5. I'm not sure if it's still in production, but the US version of the Dolphin 3 is still available. I love the Dolphin lanterns and I have all of them except for #4. If anyone has a spare I'd love to trade something for it.

The SureFire P2X-B "Fury" 500lu flashlight thread

Re: Glass not all its cracked up to be in the Fury... I don't have a Fury but I just tried it with my G2X. A cell extender fits and the tailcap works properly. The current draw on high with 9v. is a couple hundred mA less that it is with 6v., indicating that the light is OK for use with 9v.

    Tekna Flashlights

I'll confess to being a Tekna/Tektite junkie. I have or have had pretty much every light ever made by both companies and I'm always looking for more (see my sigline). Tektite is the light I'll grab when the Apocalypse comes.

    Anyone reassemble a Z41?

Just pick out a screw narrow enough that it will be able to cut its own threads in the plastic part where the original pin was. If you can find a self tapping screw of the right size, so much the better. Be sure the screw isn't so long that it protrudes through the other end of the hole.

A flashlight brand you can REALLY trust ?

Tektite should be on the list. For my money it's the most failsafe flashlight available.

looking for 2 specific budget lights

I've got an NIB Inova A2 I'd sell. 2AA with twisty tailcap and extremely reliable.

Can't decide on Inova X2 old vs new?

In reality, there's not a lot of difference in runtime between the two versions. The older model draws about 600mA at the tailcap while the newer one draws about 800mA. If you want long runtime you can use the lower setting on the new model.

    Anyone reassemble a Z41?

I always replace the original pin with an appropriately sized philips head screw. Use a screw without a point or file off the point. Take the parts to Ace Hardware to be sue you get the right screw.

    Coleman Max 115 lumens?

I finally got around to modding this light. I put a 1 Ohm resistor across the pair of 8.2 Ohm resistors, which gave a total of .8 Ohm. The light draws 550mA from a 14500 li-ion battery. This is a safe load and should give over an hour of runtime. The brightness appears to be greater than it was...
