guide me on a battery tester

Resting voltage indeed means nothing to me. Why? Because I only had negative results. 2032 measuring 3+V - not working in a remote. CR123A - not working in a camera while measuring 3+V. What use is resting voltage when the actual application doesn't work? I trust my Brymen 869S for showing me...

guide me on a battery tester

A good battery tester needs to put a load on the battery and that load has to match the type of battery you're testing. An LR44 1.5V button cell needs a different load than a 3000mAh 18650 That's why testers like the BT-168 Pro are useless. They treat every battery between 1.5V and 4.8V the...

    Why VTC5A and not VTC6? VTC6 = 3120mAh and 30A CDR

    Test/review of Nitecore SC4

So, almost 2 years later and Nitecore is still selling this without fixing the issues?

    Infrared flashlights

I have used a blue Convoy S2+ for my Nichia 365nM UV LED and driver. I would now like to use a red Convoy S2+ as a host for an Osram 850nM IR led. Can anyone help me in a direction how to achieve this? I can solder so no problem there. Accept I have no idea what else I need to buy. Thanks in...

    Ultratac K18 (XP-G2 S2, 1xAAA Ni-MH, Alkaline, Li-ion) Review

Received my protected 10440 cells from Fasttech yesterday and they easily fit my stainless steel version. No gap when tightening the head to the body. They are different than the ones in the Fasttech picture though because they have a nipple.

    Nitecore Intellicharger II

500mA It's not a "rate" it's a current. How long it takes depends on the capacity of the battery you're charging. Roughly: a 500mAH battery takes around 1 hour, a 1000mAh battery around 2 hours etc. etc.

    Ultratac K18 (XP-G2 S2, 1xAAA Ni-MH, Alkaline, Li-ion) Review

Hm, weird, link is working here. I fixed it 2 times, iPad was acting up. Perhaps you haven't tried after the 2nd fix?

    Ultratac K18 (XP-G2 S2, 1xAAA Ni-MH, Alkaline, Li-ion) Review

Thanks! I didn't know Soshine was manufacturing protected 10440. Your link to Amazon leads to the unprotected version but I see they do have them on eBay. I hope AW and Efest will also start offering these. Perhaps I'll try to take a circuit board from a Soshine or Ultrafire and put it on a...

    10440 battery info

Same question here. I've just ordered a K18 Stainless Steel for a great price (€17.50/$19.50). I prefer protected 10440 but that narrows it down to only a few batteries. Soshine has a protected 10440 cell with a reasonable spec of 350mAh. However, it's an ICR and the specs on their website state...

    Ultratac K18 (XP-G2 S2, 1xAAA Ni-MH, Alkaline, Li-ion) Review

Thanks for responding. Yeah I know IMR is safer but still not protected against over discharging. The only protected 10440 batteries I know of are the Trustfire brand. Not my favorite brand but perhaps worth a try :)

    Ultratac K18 (XP-G2 S2, 1xAAA Ni-MH, Alkaline, Li-ion) Review

Can anyone tell if protected 10440 would fit? When using standard sized batteries, do you have the feeling there's some room left to take an extra 2mm?

    Turnigy Accucell-6 problems

Sorry to bring back this old topic but I think it's better to keep all information in 1 topic than starting a new one. This doesn't make sense to me. Your batteries were coming off the charger reading a bit low (4.14-4.17 instead of 4.20) You say you've calibrated it by setting it to +15? But...

Tech Tricks: Homemade Balance Charging Cradles.

Yup, all traces are isolated. If you look at spencer's reply (7 posts up) he was having the same problem. Probably also the reason why they've started using these metal rails in the newer versions of the charger. I guess there's not much I can do about it.

Tech Tricks: Homemade Balance Charging Cradles.

I've been neglecting certain hobbies for a while (I've got too many) but I really would like this thing to become useable. Is there a technical person here who can explain why my cradle (see above) won't work? All I can think of is that in the original i4 charger they've taken the resistance of...
