Lookat the 2cd pict. You are looking down the bell of the very same light! After the blow and before. Rag is around tube as it was still HOT.
I have had SLA, NiMh and Liion Batteries all blow at one time or another in different chargers.
Since the instructions state it requires overnight charging before use I did not try it but plugged in the charger and got an immediate green LED which could only mean the SLA was fully charged or defective..
The battery I replaced did the same but upon 12 hours on the charger, it tested dead...
How do you tell old from new style?
Also like a politition...I lied. Looks like I will buy the FireFoxesIII, 40 watts very soon, I just gotta have one!
Compared the Stanley to the DX 3k lumen (sku: 100215) last night. DX is definately flood, 3 light source, about 2x the width of the HID0109...
Just got back,
BOTE trailer has axle/balance problem; factory installed wrong axle when it was built and it rolled over again this time destroyed and damaged into big bucks. So no little HID for now.

Yes, I am fishing in the far north west, hope to catch some northern pike today. Been raining 2 weeks straight. My life is drama if not a conspiracy.

It is only 2800 lumens. REmember when our flashlights had only 65 lumen LEDs? I have an LED flashlight that is 3000 lumens, I build one that was 2700.
The Ryobi is cute, serves a purpose and if you got the tools a nice addition to use the Li battery. But at 2800 lumens it is very dim...
"More power, Scotty, more lumens plzzz!"
"She gonna blow cap'n..." My story; I like LUMENS!
So does this mean that it would be OK, even a wise idea to again search out the old HID and just change the SLA??
In two days time I went to three Pep Boys in Tucson and got 3 defective Stanley HIDs and a few days later picked up from Pep Boys in Sandy, UT the fourth. All did not work. Three of them when plugged into AC for the required 8 hour charge showed a steady green full charge light; one of the...
Got another and it too did not work, changed it for #3.
Third ones a charm and appears to be charging.
A year and they are still out there malfunctioning before they are even sold!
Bought three (3) Stanleys in the last two days from Pep Boys.
Two did not work right out of the box, light stayed green from the start and HID would not turn on but it would work off the 12V cord when plugged in.
So ran around exchanging until I have one that appears to be charging...
Yes, that is just off the scale on the too large side, but it may be ok for a plaything at a later time. I need the HID for field use, headed north into MT this weekend so right this very minute I am out the door to hunt down another stanley.
Thank you very much, I certainly am considering it...
