How do you protect your flashlight inventory

I keep some of my more 'versatile' lights (Malkoff, Surefire) in Apache brand '1800' hard plastic cases that are reasonably priced at Harbor Freight. They would be easy to grab if I needed to take them somewhere. An 'un-inflated' 2-liter pop bottle makes for a slim waterproof container for...

    What flashlights have you lost?

Lost a Fivemega 18350 E-head body attached to a Surefire KL1 bezel, which could handle either 1 or 2 CR123a cells, depending on what you screwed it onto. I had it in the outer pocket of a leather jacket, with a wool beret smushed down on top of it, to keep it in there. I must have flipped it out...

    UV wavelength differences

Kitchen Panda, please be careful using UV to look at your teeth in the mirror. I'm guessing you're fairly close to the mirror, and it's reflecting that UV light back towards your eyes.

    Found my Surefire 6P!

NutSAK, thanks for the correction on the Nyogel.

    Found my Surefire 6P!

'Nyogel' and 'Lubri-film' are considered good, (and Malkoff carries it). Auto parts stores (and hardware stores?) tend to carry silicone grease, but I am not knowledgeable enough about different silicone greases to know what makes one better for flashlights, or whether the brand truly makes a...

    Found my Surefire 6P!

You might not need to do this since it's been "protected" in a plastic bin, but you might want to consider unscrewing the head (bezel) and tailcap/switch assembly, cleaning the threads with a single-use alcohol pad, and then re-lubing the threads and o-rings with a silicone grease like Nyogel...

    Surefire 3P upgrade

Yes, the 3P uses the C-series bezel, so a Malkoff of the right voltage would work (just be careful not to use a rechargeable 16340 with a Malkoff M31). The VME 2-piece bezel works on the E-series.

You rarely see these come up for sale, and this is the best picture I've seen of one of these in use. Definitely collectible. Good luck with your sale!

Elzetta- The industry's best kept secret.

fulee9999, thank you for the photos. I have an earlier Bravo body with non-ano tail threads, and instead of having 'Bravo' printed on it, it has ZFL-M60 printed on one side (after Elzetta), and on the other side (after Elzetta), it has printed, "illumination by (top line) Malkoff Devices (bottom...

    WTB Surefire

Manny_01, do you actually mean a Z3 to be your second line item? I have never heard of the '3Z', and a brief search didn't turn up anything.

    Z2 Combat Light

I don't know that I would characterize the C2 as the 'premium' version of the 6P and Z2. It's true that the latter two lights, sadly, never came out in a version with HA III anodizing. I think that supposedly the 6P, coming out first, was intended as a 'cop light', so the type II black anodizing...

Looking for a Surefire U2 Modder

I thought I posted here, but I must have somehow lost it. This photo (not mine) might help you determine which generation of U2 you have, which will have an effect on which leds you can use. The gen-1 version is on the left, and the gen-2 on the right. Nitroz put an XHP-50 (neutral tint) in the...
