Would You still Buy an Arc AAA Today?

Re: Anyone have an Arc AAA? I've had an ARC AAA-P on my keyring for many years now. Still carry it everyday.

Batteries not being mailed from china

It really has nothing to do with customs. The restriction is because of the IATA dangerous goods regulations, and is the shippers responsibility. The carrier shouldn't be accepting the packages for transport since they are no prepared or labelled in accordance with the IATA DGR, so should not be...

Batteries not being mailed from china

I all fairness the transport by air of Lithium metal and Lithium Ion batteries isn't banned, it just needs to be documented and labelled and shipped as DG. Unfortunately this is a specialist area and the shipper needs to be, or needs to pay, an IATA qualified person to prepare the packaging and...

Batteries not being mailed from china

A fire proof envelope wont help your cause, that has no bearing on meeting IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, which is what is causing the issues surrounding shipping.

    SureFire International Warranty

I'm in New Zealand and they eventually replied to my emails and sent me a replacement tail cap. It was hard getting a response and took quite a long time, but never the less they sent me one for free, no questions asked. I wasn't asked to return the whole light either, but it was a G2 with an...

Is someone here using GREEN light on headlamps?

As noted above, when working with NVGs, green doesn't cause blooming like red does.

Sold/Expired Odd Mods Adapters, 3AA-21AA, M6 rechargeable solutions, Dummy cells, Customs!

I purchased a 9AA holder off you some years ago, with the intention of using it with a MAG85 that I had never had a really good battery solution for. Like many little projects it languished, along with the MAG85 with its old dead sealed battery pack until just the other day when the eneloops I...

Sprucing up my Maglites, Recommendations, Tips, Advice sought.

Now this thread is in the incan section, and unless I've missed it no one has suggested a MAG85 mod for the 3d. I've got one using an odd mods 9AA battery holder running eneloops, works a treat. I'm pretty sure all the parts are available, battery holders from Odd mods in the custom section...

    Surefire identification???

Well you hit the nail on the head, you don't know what you are getting. You can never trust lumen ratings on products like that, they just make them up. You don't know what the quality is like, it might be a bit brighter than the P60L, in fact it probably is, but you don't really know. 'High...

P60 drop in for SF G2

You could always use a single 17670. You also need to be aware that your G2 will not wick the heat away from the drop in as well as an aluminium light will. The Nitrolon is an insulator rather than a conductor. This could lead to heat issues with a high power drop in.

    Anybody understand remote pressure switches?

I've rebuilt both these types in the past, they really are rubbish quality. often the wires that come out of the cable at the tail cap end aren't actually soldered to anything. The reliability can be improved greatly by resoldering all the joints and reinforcing everything with extra layers of...

Surefire "clones" (counterfeits) for sale at gunshow UPDATE

Although not applicable to SF as they are manufactured in the US, many companies that have their product manufactured in China run the risk of 'grey market' items being sold. These are items made on the same production lines as the real thing, basically once the production run for the company...

    infra-red flashlight for night vision

HOw about keeping an eye out in the market place for a Surefire M4, and pick up an IR filter for it? If you want to use rechargeables you can use 2.x17670s and change the bulb to an MN15 or one of the Lumen Factory lamps.
