    Question about US Savings Bonds

Guess I didn't explain myself clearly. The estate may have paid the income taxes on the acrued interest (up to the date of death). I personally experienced this very situation. If the taxes on the acrued interest were paid by the estate, your friend would have received notice from the estate...

    Question about US Savings Bonds

Yes, you can have the bonds reissued with a new beneficiary. There is a form available, for this purpose, and it's shipped free of charge. For the life of me, I can't remember the form's number. You will need the deceased's death certificate (with the embossed seal), if I remember...

    So long, little buddy

Geoff: My condolences. Zorro and I have come to know each other so well. I can't imagine what life would be without him. Weston was a beautiful cat. I would do the same, if Zorro had a tumor, hard as it would be. Weston is in a better place.

Cant decide wich surefire to buy...HELP!

I own almost every Surefire handheld flashlight, multiples of many, and carry two Surefire E1E flashlights, at all times. They are small, light weight, capable, and dependable. You forget they are in your pockets, until you need them. My definition of the best emergency flashlight is: "the...

    Flash Card Reader not working.

Well, looks like it probably is a compatability issue, with the cards large capacity. I'll see if it works with a photoshops card reader next. Hope that works out, or I'll have to buy another, lower capacity card, just to be able to have photos printed at the photoshop. oldgrandpajack EDIT...

    Flash Card Reader not working.

I finally broke down, and purchased a digital camera, last weekend. Purchased a 2gb 40X SD memory card, which arrived Wednesday. Formatted the 2gb SD memory card in my camera yesterday, and it works fine, in the camera. The new 2gb 40X SD flash memory card doesn't work with the built in...

    Zorro does purr, silently

It's so great, to see that I'm not the only one so attached to their cat. :) My cat intiated the butting of forheads, when he was young. I do it, but have found Zorro prefers to initiate head butting. We also blink eyes at each other. It's the best way to get Zorro to come close and lay down...

    Zorro does purr, silently

I've always thought my cat, Zorro, didn't purr. I can remember him purring twice, for maybe 5-10 seconds, when he was young. Haven't heard a purr since. Lately though, I've noticed he is vibrating like a cell phone set on vibrate. If my fingernails touch his teeth, I can feel the vibration...

effects of depleated uranium during the gulf war

Depleted Uranium is also used in nuclear weapons (fission-fusion-fission devices). The fission trigger typically uses plutonium, which fissions, providing the energy needed to fuse the tritium. The fused tritium gives off excess neutrons, which are absorbed by the depleted uranium blanket...

effects of depleated uranium during the gulf war

I think you are all missing the point. Yes, depleted uranium is normally inert. But, when it flashes, look out. It flashes pretty easily. Even if you tried to drill, turn, or machine deleted uranium, in the open air, delpleted uranium will flash. If you inhale the "smoke", you're in...

effects of depleated uranium during the gulf war

The vehicles with depleted uranium armor, which were hit by depleted uranium ammunition during the Gulf War ("friendly fire"), are being kept at a large government nuclear site. Must be a reason for that. oldgrandpajack

    Do I need a Surefire E1E ?

My EDC's are two Surefire E1E flashlights. That way, I have a spare lamp, battery, and tail cap. My spare E1E has the Z52 tail cap, so if the Z68 on the other one fails, no worries. Also have a waterproof match carrier with two spare batteries. Lets see, that gives me about 6 hours of light...
