    The UV Thread

From a theoretical point of view you should not see any color coming from a uv source. The color that you see is from the tail of the spectrum emission near the blue range. A UV LED's power is a measure of flux(watts) rather than photometric units which are perceivable by the eye(lumens).

    Ultraviolet LEDs and Eye Safety?

The important thing to keep in mind is not to stare directly at the light source. What you should be considering is an LED packaged in TO-18 Glass ball Lens or a 5mm round model. The reason behind this is that the light is collimated in a 10 degree and 15degree angle respectively(the most common...

    Deep UV (254nm) LEDs

As for fox Group LEDs theyr typical output is 361 - 362 nm at 20mA, you can get the specific 365nm peak at a higher forward current(wont damage if you want to pulse the LED), or even after keeping the leds on for a couple of minutes( heat shifts the spectrum a little )

    Deep UV (254nm) LEDs

The only 254nm LEDs that I know of are the SET ones and as it has been said before they are are too expensive for commercial use. This is because going lower in wavelength is a mix of art and science, there are many factors to consider for manufacturers and it takes more time to develop UV led...

    UV uses?

you might want to try out the fox group uv leds ... they have LEDs and die that emit at 360 and 350nm wavelength and they have a very consistent output. Iknow that they have doubled their flux output in the last quarter and their LEDs/dies are produced with their own patented technology.

live for physics... what UV leds were u using to take those great pictures? wavelength.. flux?

    UV Led lights

the fox group offers UV LEDs at 360 and 350 nm.. the batch that i have now emits double the flux than the batch i had 6 months ago... pretty impressive when you combine that with their stable output..

    UV uses?

UV is used in applications such as curing of polymers or encapsulants, detection of fake currency, in some biomedical equipment, psiorasis treatment dermatology. it is also used during fabrication of dvds and cds, air and water purifiers and a long list of other stuff.
