Convoy L6
With over 4000 lumen, the perfect batteries, price and function, the search stopped there.
There simply was no need to look for anything more.
Two of the batteries tested ok.
Two tested 15% below advertised capacity.
One oddity is that the two that measured low eventually came up but their DISCHARGE capacity is consistently higher than their CHARGE Capacity. Repeated cycling does not seem to improve this. According to Battery...
First results are in.
First battery to complete the test came in below advertised capacity (first time I ever had that happen with these Amazon Basics)
Never had this happen before. They always came sealed in a fresh package. These appear to be "Previously used" batteries but sold at the normal "New" price.
The package was a bit rough and obviously re-taped.
I know, I can check the capacity. But since NiMh batteries will maintain nearly...
I buy a lot of NiMh cells.
I'm familiar with the cycling requirements. In practice, it is not common for a NiMh to gain more than roughly 15-20% of it's advertised capacity through cycling. That was more the case in the early days of NiMh.
When you get an NiMh cell that checks in at 50% of...

I bought two batches of 4 cells each.
The first batch was a pure joke.....about 5,000mAh (out of supposedly 10,000)
The second batch was "slightly" better at around 7500mAh, but still short of the advertised 10,000
All 8 were returned for a refund not only because of the...

LUMINAR OUTDOOR
1250 Lumen Portable Lantern
Cast bright light over a wide area with this 1250 lumen portable lantern
$20.00
Correct.
These types of discussions are always "YMMV".
Just because the budget headlamps work for me and my needs doesn't mean they will for another.
I guess I forgot this for a moment in the OP.
The $65 Nitecore only uses one 18650.
That would be the no go for me.
Nearly all my sub $30 headlamps use two 18650's for much greater run time.
And as far as reliability......I haven't had any problems with the sub $30 ones and they've seen HEAVY use for nearly 5 years.
As far as the water...
Is the difference really worth the big bucks for the high end ones?
Why?
I have 4 or 5 that I've had for going on 5 years of HARD daily use including car repairs, intricate electronics work, chores, house work etc.
All were under $30 and put out more than enough light.
What would I get for a...
Re: AccuPower IQ338LX - Slight Problem
No, it never does that.
When it's idle, the screen is completely dark and right beside my desk so I would notice ANY blinks or even slight flickers.
Sounds like a fault in one of the buttons or the wiring under the front panel.
