Power Outage, How many Lumens, How many batteries? (for lights and more)

Re: Power Outage, How many Lumens, How many batteries? Just in case you didn't know. The goal zero battery charger and power bank has an standby current drain. It will run your batteries that you leave in it flat in about 6 months. I store the batteries seperate.

Anyone here ever carry a Zebralight SC600 daily? Pocket or holster?

Still have original SC600. Switch is unreliable now for some reason. Almost guaranteed to go on high on button press. Still love it though and couldn't get rid of it ever. I generally only carry my MT20GT now. Love that thing.

    *NEW 2016* Nitecore R40 - Rechargeable XP-L HI 26650 Light

I love the inductive charger. 200lm for 10hrs is a winner also.

    Light Review: NITECORE EA45S (4xAA)

    That's pretty bad.

Olight R50 (XHP50, 26650, rechargeable) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS and more!

I was eyeing off this light for a while but having no way to charge a spare battery is a killer for me. None of the Australian supplier have any batteries that will charge in it. Also the proprietary battery sounds a little dangerous if I wanted to charge it outside the torch or stick in another...

Test/Review of Ikea Ladda AAA 900mAh (White)

I had got some a few weeks ago. They still had stacks of the 500mAh ones there and hidden behind where was a single box of the 900mAh. As soon as I saw made in Japan, straight in the basket.

Compared to the fabled eneloops are they any good. They seem to be made in Japan also. Perhaps rebadged?

    Knife Review: Fällkniven F1 Pro

You beat me too the mousepad and wet/dry paper trick. I have had the F1 for ages now and it is just a fantastic knife. I wish someone would give me knives to test out. Very jealous.

The long list of potentially useful stuff in bug out, SHTF, car kits, and more...

Some excellent points monocrome. We can (but seldom do) learn a lot from the past. You would generally only have 1 tank of fuel to get you anywhere. Bugging is safe bet but I agree to the potential to leave so you need to have contingency plans.

To be fair. I worked in the maritime industry when I had it. Salt water takes its toll on everything. I tend to only carry a fixed knife now, much easier to clean and no areas " you just can't get too".

Ta for that massive review. I have had too many leather and rust.

Love my jet boil system. Can't cook food in the supplied cup but it heats water up in very fast. The good thing about it, it included a stand piece so you could just put a normal pot/pan on it and use as a normal stove. I also have one of those self heating pouches for when a flame wouldn't...

Soylent doesn't contain any soy (as in the plant source). It derives most of its protein from Whey proteins which are dairy based. Well at least the product I have tried. Tastes fine and for 3 days worth is fine to survive to live on.
