Ditto on both counts!
There is a seiko-citizen watch group , if you are interested I can PM it to you.
What a great board for flash light collectors,
I once thought it was just me and Andy Rooney , who showed some of his collection on TV.
I think I saw a similar light, smith and wesson branded , at a northern tool outlet and other than the name it appeared to be the same light.
Except the S&W brand was $20.
I almost bought the S&W brand but they were out of them at the time.
I am glad I did not pay that much since finding the HD...
Re: Want a Fenix 1xAA twisty?
I just want a single stage light that runs for a very long time. I am not in on the lumens craze. Only if the two stage were to be a power miser would I get a two stage.
The whole thing for me is 10 to 15 or so lumens with many hours runtime.
Like an EO1 on...
Here are some borrowed (from the original thread) pics of the proton disassembly, just unsolder the 3mm LED and replace with a white one of the same size.
It worked for me but was very hard to get open.
I have seen this light in that same catalog and considerd getting one, just for the novelty factor.
Does the light stay bright for the entire runtime or does it dim quckly and spend much of that time slowly dimming?
Righteous score there .
Unfortunately, I have none myself, but would gladly take them off your hands should you suddenly decide they are cursed
or just too ugly to look at anymore.:naughty: :)
For the GIU if the # is 80012 or above it has the newest version LED.
If it is the GIU-M model it should have 22-80027 or above for the newest LED.
This info is from rocky national.com and is the numbers on the boxes mine came in.
I gave $16 each for my GIU 's and they are just a bit brighter than my EO1 's or at least as bright.
Also have a bigger hotspot and bigger brighter spill area and a tad more throw, but I would love to have the EO1 body style too.
If the gerbers can be sold for nearly the same price as the EO1...
I got it out using some split ring pliers. I will try to fit it into a standard size flange base , the driver and all came out.
I need it to fit in a standard base and reverse the polarity(if possible without POOF) for a special light I have that I cant reverse from the inside .
