    HDS Systems EDC # 19

hey yep no luck, HDS refuses to turn off if I have to send it for repair this will be its second world round trip :\ I like lights that just work and don't need regular repairs/maintenance, and I do keep the o-rings lubricated.

    HDS Systems EDC # 19

Hi guys, my EDC Rotary 200 will not turn off. When I turn it ON the brightness and everything work as expected, however when i turn it OFF it goes to a moonlight brightness and cannot be fully turned off. I have tried cleaning the contacts and also tried different batteries, no luck. Any ideas?

    What lights have you lost?

Recently had a SureFire 6P + Malkoff M61 stolen from my hotel room by a local cleaning lady in South Africa. Doubt she can afford CR123s but hope it finds its way into the hands of someone who will make good use of it.

Some notes on reliability from a flashlight user

Hi guys, Think a few of you guys might find this helpful. Just a small review of flashlight reliability. I consider reliability to be the highest priority out of a tool, including flashlights. I have owned and operated lights from these companies: Malkoff HDS Fenix FourSevens Surefire...

    HDS Systems EDC # 16

I don't know. I am not a flashlight maker, but I don't think it's a mechanical failure. Something in the circuit-board malfunction. One day I went to turn the light on and it didnt turn on :) Did some diagnostics at the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmVHhizLVsk Have since required...

    HDS Systems EDC # 16

Haven't checked in in quite awhile. Are we still able to return busted lights? I have a Rotary which died probably 2 years ago and never bothered to send it in for repair. Considering doing it soon. I am overseas. Anything I should be aware of? I think the model is called EDC-R1B-200. I...

if you became rich/wealthy, what would you do for the flashlight (or CPF) community?

I think buying high quality lights from efficient and passionate manufacturers is the best way to give back.

A set of lights for a world downfall.

Two (single-cell & durable) lights for each battery type you can think of, is a good start. Incl a headlight for a few of the main battery types. There's a philosophy on here about specializing in a certain battery type ... i don't believe in limiting your options to one or two fuel sources...

What did you use your flashlight for today?

4sevens preon 2 illuminating the inside of my PC to check the dust levels :)

Isnt it time to coin a new name designation for small high intesity lights? New class

Man-Portable Photon Cannon Mk. 2 Mod 0 To me, a light labeled "Tactical" (with a straight face) means it is rated to withstand recoil forces when mounted to a firearm. lesser considerations: visibility/reflectivity, IR filter option, strike bezel, simple UI, middle-of-the-road runtime vs...

Rust on battery contact surfaces (CR123)

I have some rust on a couple of my CR123 battery contact surfaces. They are Foursevens brand. They've been in some powerpax battery holders for awhile, in various EDC rotation and at home. The batteries are unused. I live in a humid sub-tropic climate. Should I be concerned? Is...

    Flashlights in Space

Looks like the astronauts are still using clunky C-cell Mag-Lites on the ISS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZx0RIV0wss 1:14-1:16
