    Well, I still find that very strange.. A depleted battery should not give such a stable on/off cycle, that is, I never found a battery that did the same to my MB.. But.. You're happy, so we're happy.. Ra.

    Ahh, I didn't know he was using a new bulb.. But some new bulbs can cause problems as well.. I know of at least one case, where MB had to be set to standard power to prevent shutoff during startup. Especially with a cold bulb, startup at low power is asking for shutdown in some cases.     Looks to me you need a new bulb... When the battery can't keep up, it shuts off directly after startup, and doesn't try to ignite again unless you hit the power-switch.. The 'stable' situation you picture in your first post also doesn't point towards a bad battery, because in that case it should...
