I still have the two I bought originally plus one I got cheap on ebay. I put a buffed piece of screen protector on the one I use most and it diffuses the beam nicely. The chapstick cap trick works on these too.
I usually got a lot more than 3 hours runtime on mine. I seem to remember there...
They are currently on sale at BatteryJunction for $29 before the discount. That would save you a couple of dollars.
I gave mine to my mom but I still have my LM33. I converted it to a single-level forward clicky also from BatteryJunction.
Merlocka yours must have operated differently. Mine...
That's the part that was originally tripping me up before I actually had the instructions in hand to read them carefully.
Entering the changing mode doesn't actually change to the next pattern, it just prepares for changing.
Try a delay of 6 seconds. That works with mine every time. Others have reported using 7 or 8 seconds instead of 5. I agree that it's a narrow window but I think 5 seconds isn't long enough delay on some copies of this light. I use my watch too when doing this.
I wonder if a really good brand of gaffer's tape, like Pro-Gaff, would have had enough pull. Probably if you cleaned the dime and fully rubbed a small piece onto the surface and then pulled carefully it could have worked.
(I'm lucky to have a budget for things like $13 rolls of tape... very...
Another vote for the LF2x. I got mine from the B/S/T in the MarketPlace here and it was a great, lucky deal. It's my new favorite AAA light and I've worn it every day since I got it as long as I had a shirt that either buttons up or has a pocket. I always have a Peak Matterhorn in my coin...
I had trouble with mode-changing originally on my second-hand green lithium model that didn't come with instructions.
There was a thread a few weeks ago that cleared it up completely for me. Now it's very consistent and I like it even better than at first. Search for that thread and I'm sure...
I avoided a face-full of big, hairy spider and its 2-foot diameter web last night. It was right across the walkway that goes from my driveway to the front door. Perfect height, would have probably landed right on my nose!
I would have beaten myself unconscious I imagine. :ohgeez:x100
I found the yellow thread protector caps from small compressed-air and CO2 tanks (like for paintball) fit some lights perfectly. The LM31 for example.
I didn't actually get to test it outdoors yet, but the light it puts out looks very similar to the yellow bug-resistent light bulbs.
This also...
Re: Brinkman Cree 2-AAA...
I was at Wal-Mart today and didn't see this light anywhere. We definitely need a picture from someone who has the light.
They had at least 6 different versions of the new Coleman Cree lights, but not this Brinkmann.
Re: The ~OFFICIAL~ Nitecore D10/EX10 Registry
My card was in storage and I kept forgetting to check it since this thread was started.

I got mine this week too. I have found that keeping P1 on 15% and P2 on bright but not full; with the user setting on lowest-low to be a very practical three-way combo.
P1 and P2 handle almost everything daily because I use a light alot indoors during the day, as well as outside at night. Then...
A couple of years ago, Garrity was putting out an all metal "somewhat like a Mini-Mag but different" light. You'll recognize it by the finger grooves on one side of the rubber cover on the metal barrel. It also has a rear clicky and a slightly larger head. This light is now out of production but...
