Energizer lithiums do have a lot of advantages in a light like this. Large packs can be found pretty reasonable nowadays. I have actually lost a couple of lights due to battery leakage of alkalines. Now I don’t want to put alkalines in a light that could sit for awhile.
Now I really want a 21700 battery version of this light with the same power setting - or maybe increase the low from 35 to 50 lumens. The 21700 would bump up the runtime while only making it slightly larger.
I picked one up tonight. Not a bad light at all. Very solid feeling and the 35 lumens is a very usable level. Kinda reminds me of the output an old 2 cell D light would put out but with nowhere near the runtime.
I can’t believe it took me this long to notice this light. It has good features/specs for tough polymer grab-n-go light. The ability to use either cr123’s or an 18650 is great. Gotta pick me up one.

Interesting. I like the higher medium output on the original also. The new version is still a great light for the money and ticks a lot of boxes.
I bought the first edition Lumapower Incendio and was looking to possibly purchase the latest version. It was a great light back in the day. Lumapower had many updates over the years. Are they still in existence?
My favorite AA light was an Eagtac D25a “twisty” that you cannot find anymore. It was super compact, one of my most efficient AA lights, and had a great beam with decent throw. I lost it years ago. Most AA lights use XML emitters that don’t have a good beam in my opinion - too floody. My...
I got one for Christmas and like it. I changed out the optic for the Carco 10507 and like the beam profile much better. Still good spill but has a hotspot instead of almost all flood - thanks to others for informing about this inexpensive and easy mod.
I ordered the CREE XPL hi 5000 version...
