Implying high resistance. Could extreme cold drop the resistance of some resistor enough to raise the current to a level that some other component doesn't like?

If I'm picturing this right, the jig has outside threads that screw into the head and inside threads that the tailcap screws into. The tape would go on the outside threads of the jig and the tailcap before you screw it all together.
