Upgraded ship's searchlight - MBS-450 Francis
Inspecting the Perko, and Carlisle searchlights we have have found quite a lot of degradation in 4 of the glass reflectors through damp or fungus. I have 4 which are 30% discolored or missing silvering on the edges. The glass is perfect Does anyone have any idea where I can get these glass...- Richard D

Re: Francis and Colorlight searchlights The Indians answered quickly, helpful and informative but will not sell the Xenon kits without a barrel etc at $3,500. No surprise. And their control kit also used a start button on back of Lamp, which not covenient for wheelhouse operated unit. SO...- Richard D

This is a fascinating job - and great idea to mount parallel to Francis. WalterK: you appear to be resident expert on these mods, so what I would like to ask is what bulb you are using in your Francis light? It looks like a 300mm light and I know they have standard halogen and also Metal Halide...- Richard D

I was put off by the "start button - 5 seconds" and the fact there is small viewing port with black glass in the side of the lamp so I suppose they had to...- Richard D

I am just finishing refit of motor boat that has 2 14" Perko running 1000w halogen on 220v, and 4 portable 11" 24v 150w halogen Francis lights, in addiiton to 2 Carlisle & Finch AC 12" wheelhouse rod...- Richard D
