    First dive light build

I just checked the Dive Rite web site and they have a component parts set, all you do is supply the cannister and the light handle. We used 35w HID, bur LED might be a better choice now. Bob Weis

    First dive light build

We made dive lights for cave diving. Poly carbonate 1/4" cylinders, 1/2" bottom plate, 1/4" top plate, 2 x 12v 9ah sealed cells, compression fittings for the wire, magnet reed switch threw the power relay for off / on. Sort of mimicked a Diverite without the failure points. Zero failure...

How long before I need to buy new set of batteries?

I just got a TN31 I primarily use to walk the dog: 45 minutes in the morning, 1 hour at night. I figured out about how much run time per day I used the level I use (2) and the amount of time that level should run (140 hours) I read that you do not want to stress 18650 so I recharge about every 2...

    Rewrapping a battery

I rewarpped a couple of 18650 as per your directions and it was extremely simple and very effective. Get the material, used a heat gun on low, cut the correct length, get old wrap off, slide new wrap on, center the physical battery, slowly heat shrink wrap, done. Thanks Bob Weis

    Thrunite tn31 xm-l2

Use mine TN31 XM-L2 U2 to walk the dog, 1hr in the morning when it is dark, and 1hr in the evening when it is dark. Had mine since mid April. Occassionally when the dog finds a rabbit or armadillo "the chase is on" and I go from a normal walking setting of 2 to 4 or 6 depending on how far the...

What to use all these high power lights for?

I live in florida, walk the dog at night and before sun up in the morning. There is a 5 acre field that I can let him off the leash. I walk the perimeter of the field while Shadow runs around pretty much in the middle. When he scares up an armadillo or rabbit the chase is on! I use the 1300+...

FL's higher & higher Lumens, throw further & further, how far can you actually SEE?

FL's higher & higher Lumens, throw further & further, how far can you actually SEE? Just bought my first FL (TN31 XM-L2 U2). Lots of throw, love it. I think it throws further than I can reasonably see clearly. I see FL's throwing further and further, more and more lumens, but isn't there a...

How do you know when your rechargeables are old&tired and need changing?

I am new to Li-ion cells, but since it is a chemical reaction when charging I thought it would be a good idea to use an IR gun to measure the heat generated during charging, and that might provide me a guideline when a cell is not performing correctly during charge. I know that different cells...

What is NEW in ET M3C4 other than XM-L2 and driver (lumens output)?

There is a price reduction in the previous versions of the ET M3C4 XM-L vs. the XM-L2. What are the differences between the previous version and the newest version other than LED & driver (lumens output)? Any control ring differences, battery holder differences, manufacturing differences...

Rofis TR51 (XM-L U2, 2x18650/4xCR123A) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, VIDEO and more!

I had inquired about the 18650's and I think I got a response of detail instead of practicality. What was happening was the tab was not engaging the slot on the side before it was blocked by the batteries. I think they are going to have to figure out something else long term. I did not want to...
