    MagLite Experts...

Can you print the model number of your light? It should be printed on the side of the barrel opposite the switch. I'm not aware of any difference between Xenon and Krypton sockets but to be sure I'll look up your model. Either way Malkoff is basically the way to go for Mag LED upgrades.

    Favorite mode spacing?

I agree completely. Three to four well-spaced modes strike the best balance between usability and convenience in my book. An interesting perspective on mode spacing is a burst mode, i.e. 30ish seconds of very high output when the light is first turned on at max. That way you get an extra output...

    Scratched reflector...

Hard to say without seeing a picture, but I can't imagine that it'll have a significant real-world impact. If it really bothers you, Malkoff actually sells pre-cut reflectors for $12.

    REVIEW: The New 4Sevens Quark X Series>>>>>>>

I agree, I don't see the Quark X line as being less efficient. The driver board is drawing about the same current on all levels except maximum, so the runtimes should be similar. The only difference is on moonlight, where the larger die results in less efficiency at low, low drive currents.

Need help choosing an excellent thrower

The Olight M31X might be worth a look.

Need a 1AA or 2AA Thrower that can throw 130 Meters

One thing to always watch out for is the claimed reach on lights. The Quark Turbo is claimed to reach 156 meters but I can say from experience that his is somewhat of a stretch.

    Quark MiniX 123

It looks pretty nice. It should be safe to use a rcr123 if you don't use it heavily on high. Not manufacture supported though.

Looking for my 1st *good* LED, advice wanted

I took my Quark Mini 2xAA (that two cells, not the 1xAA mini) camping, and loved it. Useful brightness levels, hidden flashy modes, deep carry clip, tail-stands (very useful for night trips to the bathroom), lanyard attachment, long runtime (even on alkalines), and most importantly, small and...

    Measuring flood

4sevens published hotspot and spill angle measurements for their lights in their 2011 catalog. That seems to be the best measure, along with lux and lumen numbers. Hopefully other manufactures take the cue from them - of course, nothing beats a good beamshot!

Cant decide between SC50 or SC50w...

Honestly, most people won't be wowed either way. Get the tint YOU will be happy with and use.

Need a 1AA or 2AA Thrower that can throw 130 Meters

ANSI, people. Measurements are made with the batteries provided by the manufacturer (if any), which are alkaline in this case. Thus the low runtime. I'd say the Quark turbo AA2 is the best bet if the AA form factor is desired. A light powered by cr123 or 18650 and with a larger reflector will...

    Flashlight carry question

Anyone considering using their flashlight as a weapon should just make sure they know how to use it as such. Otherwise it's useless.

New M3X compared to TK35 and Stanley HID pics

I would agree that those numbers seem dubious. The head on the TK41 is basically the same size as the M3X so I doubt it has superior performance to any large degree.

New M3X compared to TK35 and Stanley HID pics

Although it's a little after the fact, wanted to say thanks for the pics. I'm considering the M3X and these were helpful. I know it's a lot of work to get good beamshots.

New Mag 3D. Anyone played with it?

Looking at your picture it definitely appears to be an XP-E, though probably not a premium bin. Still, another step up. One thing we can be sure about is that it will have killer throw.
