Foursevens: Research Poll- what do you want to see?

I'd be really interested in seeing the next evolution of the Mini Mkii and Mini Mkii Turbo. There is a critical space for single cell CR123A/RCR123A EDC lights and these are the lights I always have with me. I'm contemplating buying new old stock, but would love to see new iterations. Thanks...

Battery for Stanley HID0109 - very hard to get but found one!

Re: Battery for Stanley HID0109 - very hard to get but found one! (available online) Thanks for the link to batteryspec.com. My son left my HID0109 light on and completely killed the original battery, although it had already been getting weak. The Tempest replacement went in perfectly, and...

Paul Kim (PK) is NO longer with Surefire (official news/info)

^ This. It makes poor business sense for an employee to own the patents for the business's products. I'm not a lawyer, but I am the lead inventor on a patent myself. My firm is the assignee for the patent though. Like someone said, it's more or less a honorary thing, and I get to put it on...

Rundown Surefire B20 (from 10x)- can anything be done?

Sorry to review this really old thread. I've got two of these B20 batteries that are pretty much toast. Any suggestions on how to open these up? It looks like there's a tension loaded metal collar fitted on the inside that keeps the sliding cell/switch portion from coming out. I tried prying...

    Did Fenix drop the ball

I agree with the above. The P1D-CE has been perfect me. It's durable and tiny. I keep this one in my pocket and I know it's there, ready. I also have the L1D-CE as a more economical alternative. On a single AA, it doesn't have the high output mode of the P1D-CE. However, it handles heat...

My Fenix L1D-CE is TOO BIG!!! Suggest me a new EDC please.

You're just asking for too much, at least for right now. Given the length required for the reflector (esp the Cree), electronics, and battery, that doesn't leave a lot of room for a clickie switch, which requires a lot of length itself. Measure it out for yourself and you'll see.

    Fenix lens glass scratches?

I always carry my lights with a black vinyl end cap over the lens. Works perfectly, lens are always in as-new condition.

Read two posts up from yours (RadarGreg said so).

More Fenix Digital Lights - L0D CE and L1D CE

Does the reflector look like it's too small? ie, can you see the edge of the reflector in the lens? If so, you've got a Cree. The reflector need to be deeper for the Cree's radiation pattern. Since they didn't want the light to be any longer, the open end of the reflector had to be narrower...

New ZTS Mult-Battery tester MBT-1 coming out on Jan 5th !!

I'm confused. How can I tell the difference if it's the old MBT-1 vs the new MBT-1 that's being sold on either BatteryStation or Thomas Distributing?

Very cool. I'm also wondering if there will be an L2D-CE... :D

    MH-C9000 high pitched buzz?

Actually, I take it back. The HEPA on low does NOT drown out the C9000. I guess I do a fair job filtering it out myself. Oh well.

    any surefire M2 fans?

I've had my Surefire M2 and I like it quite a lot. Finding a small sized nylon holster for it is impossible though -- all the available ones are quite bulky. As such, the FM67 Beam Cover is a great accessory for protecting the lens. The light has quite a heft to it, and feels completely...

    MH-C9000 high pitched buzz?

Yeah I can hear my C9000 from the other side of my bedroom. It gets drowned out if I turn on my HEPA air filter though (even on the lowest fan setting). I'd prefer if it was totally silent, but it's not TOO bad. So far, I have to run the air filter to avoid hearing the buzz, and a stack of...

    P1D CE comparison beamshots

Nice photos! The Surefire U2 is a Lux5. In the photos here, it makes the U2 look like pee-green. I've also compared my P1D-CE against an L4, and the L4 looks to have an awful green tint (which it does). The L4 has a much wider focus with little throw and a nice donut hole.
