No ripping needed - the bracket is replaceable. There is a loose end tucked under the buckle used for adjustment of the headband, work it out through the buckle and the headband opens up. :thumbsup:
+2. A Nite-ize minimag with AA lithiums is what I've got stashed for cheap runtime emergency light.
I've also got an Elektrolumens 1D blaster, with insane runtime (40+ hours steady followed by many many more diminishing) and good output on 1 D battery. If alkalines didn't have such a leak...
I think BrightGuy had a get-together at the store a while back. I couldn't make it at the time because I was (perpetually) out of town of business. I think there may have been an informal meet at Hamvention once as well.
