That is on the right track. I am guessing I could buy a Carbide Lamp (real or fake) and modify it to use an led or something. I was also thinking of using a small off road truck light and convert it to led and use a battery pack.
I wanted to know if anyone knew if or where you can get the traditional style miners helmets or a light that can be permantly mounted to a hard hat. (not a strap on headlamp). I have looked with no result.

It is pretty sad when batteries cost more than the light... I just cant imagine it is bright. Besides all the video responses are 8 year olds who have never seen any light better than a 2AA maglite.
Would using a 18650 make the output lower? Because obviously we're talking 6 volts vs 3.7. So would it effect output or would the regulator control that. I am specifically talking about the EagleTac T20C2.
