Jet beam RRT-O Raptor S2 premium R5 cree switch help

Check the contact points near the head, and make sure you clean off excess grease. Mine flickers if the grease flows into the contact path. Of course mine is the older XM-L, so YMMV.

Why is everyone using Cree LEDs?

You Know what, I can't find any of our light bulbs that had osram/nichia printed on them. I remember a few years back I was VERY surprised to see osram/nichia written on the side of the bulbs, but going through the more recent purchases, I don't see them listed anymore. I wonder if it's on the...

Why is everyone using Cree LEDs?

In terms of flashlights for Osram and Nichia, sure. But if you ever look at any commercial LED light bulb for normal household fixtures, it'll most likely be Nichia or Osram. I haven't found much in terms of Cree household lighting.

    Favourite/most beloved 1xAA lights?

My Nitecore D10 Tribute which was my EDC for a good while (replaced by an RRT-0), still love the Piston Drive for around the house (very quiet and super smooth). Lubed it years ago with Super Lube and it's still smooth and haven't re-applied since. Currently my bedside table light (Tritium's...

    ZebraLight H502 XM-L

I'm on the other end of that, picked it up and the UI was super easy. Love the light so far, the 120º wide and even beam is superb! I wanted it for a backup light and a small support photo light, but it leave really sharp shadow lines... maybe I need a second one...

    Sub-Lumen "Moonlight" Mode Poll

0.01 is amazing from a technical standpoint, but for me its just too low to use in all but fully night adapted situations. 0.06 lumen is surprisingly useful though, after staring at a monitor all night the 0.06 level is what I use to navigate the house and go to bed without disturbing anyone and...

What is the point of having .06 lumens and .01 lumens in the zebralight 502?

when your eyes are fully night adapted, 0.06 and 0.01 are sufficient to see things in front of you. Its not sufficient to READ with, but its good to see and navigate around a house easily. I can read with the 0.34 mode though..

    ZebraLight H502 XM-L

ordered a H502d! However, I'm a bit worried at how green it might look, given by how green it looks on Esko's picture... you're assuming the light is evenly distributed across the entire circle of illumination; however its been pointed out multiple times that the light output is NOT even...

    ZebraLight H502 XM-L

The 502d is VERY interesting.... *edit* looking at luxeon spec sheets, 5000K Rebels look like the ES... We should be getting some reasonable outputs with the higher CRI as well! anyone have a 4000 vs 5000 vs 6000k comparisons? >_>

    ZebraLight H502 XM-L

The page is worded a little weirdly though, because it says holding it down goes from low to high, and I wasn't sure if it ONLY cycled low and high. I interpreted that to mean the only way to access medium was the double click... otherwise if its the normal UI, then that's absolutely great!

    ZebraLight H502 XM-L

looking at the modes, the way to access medium seems a bit confusing... does it mean double click from off gives you medium, triple click gives you low again?

Zebra High CRI uses Rebel Luxeons, not Nichia.

GM's got a new car battery on the horizon...

isn't that part of Panasonic's roadmap though as well though? They're pushing Ni cathodes and C anodes, then switching to an Si Alloy for their 4.0Ah 18650s as posted here. Granted Envia is using a Manganese cathode....

Best EDC on a cruise ship?

I was perfectly happy with my SA2 on the past 4 cruises, but i had 2 spare cells. Currently running with an RRT-0, and will likely carry two spare NiMH, and two Li-Ions. *edit* forgot to mention I'm hoping to pickup a zebralight, either a SC80c, SC51c or H502 if they come out with a C model >_>...
