Has Zebralight been supplanted flood headlamp?
Basically, when they were starting, there were Zebralight and Spark as integrated 18650 battery lights on the market - those days, the Cree XM-L T6 LED cost about 9 USD - this day, you can buy Zebralight clone for 9-19 USD - not too much room for a product development. -

Petzl Nao RL
If they were following the same ideas as in nao - the light head can be powered directly from single 18650 cell - you only need to find which connectors are responsible for power supply. The theory pinout looks crazy, but i think that there wont be more than 4 wires connected to that plug... -

@sirpetr: not exactly... When I'm connecting directly I'm in "no mans land" ;). Nao have a precise voltage sense system in it's head - probably somebody was thinking about replaceable power source. It's switching to safety mode at 3,05-3,00V - so i's safe to say that it is ok for unprotected... -

Yep, they are compatible, but they sucks because in most cases you are using only 60% of their capacity. That's why I've posted DIY version that can be charged in the standard battery charger. -

The best solution is to remove everything and connect directly to the red (+) and black(-) wires that are going from the plug to the pcb. -

Basically it''s only a legal precaution - in case of a hydrogen build-up during over-discharge of the cells that may cause the explosion - in water resistance (not airtight) equipment you don't have to worry about that. -

@kreisl - those are great angle lights, I love them in the cellars, or under the car... They can be used as headlamps on the hard-hats, and they are quite stable. For standard usage, my answer is simple - it is not a headlamp. -
