Where did all the oldtimers go.

Hello there! Still here. I just have not been spending much time with lights as much but I show up now and then to see what's new.

Fenix TK20R V2.0 has come out.

(Video 4 is up) I think with this level of beam, they could do with a 10 lumens, for longer runtime. But 30 is really good for average use, especially indoors. Not super high levels of runtime but I think they have at least 1 other light I saw which does have a low power LONG runtime. I just do...

Fenix TK20R V2.0 has come out.

Thanks. I do the best I can. I never have a flagship phone, but I think this phone does ok at recording video. I really do like this hardcore cover over the port. I know they say it's waterproof either way, but that absolutely stops everything from getting into it. Very nice indeed.

Fenix TK20R V2.0 has come out.

Some footage in the woods added. I have to record video 2 and then I want to try and get an open longer range bit of footage, if my phone camera allows, to show the spill and beam better. Also added video 2 now.

Fenix TK20R V2.0 has come out.

I know what you mean, though the more complex the UI gets, the less easy it is for people. I was not overly a fan of the complicated 2 sets of modes in one of the lights I had from them one where it would be a general set of modes and another tactical mode. It was just overly convoluted. The...

Fenix TK20R V2.0 has come out.

I did a quick search but found no mention of it, which surprised me. I have done a quick look video to introduce people to it and I shall be doing 1 or more night footage videos when I have time at night to show the light off. Video 1 Overview Video 2 Night time in the back garden Video...

    Fenix TK22 V2.0 1600 lumens tactical flashlight video(s)

Night footage added. I will eventually try longer range when I can find a good location but I know how hard my cameras struggle with longer ranges.

    Fenix TK22 V2.0 1600 lumens tactical flashlight video(s)

Here's my overview video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TY4R_xJJcQM I am impressed with what I have seen so far, I have yet to try it in the darkness outside as it's the middle of the day. But the tight hotspot, 1600 lumens and decent runtime AND the fact I can use 18650 batteries as well as...

    UPGRADED TK22 HAS BEEN RELEASED!!

No CR123 batteries compatible? Why can't CR123 be used? I normally keep some CR123 on me for emergency use in case for some weird reason the temperature is cold enough to stop the lithium rechargeable cells from working. Same why I keep lithium primary AAA on me in case the rechargeable nimh AAA...

What was the last LED light you purchased and why?

The only Nicha LED light I have owned that I can recall was a little Silverpoint Auro II I think it was called and took a single AA. It wasn't bad for brightness and I forget the runtime. But it's switch was a bit dodgy and didn't take too long to start flickering etc even after cleaning all the...

What is the least important/most disliked feature for you in flashlights?

For me the most important feature is the level of brightness it can achieve. The worst feature, in my opinion, is how the PD35 TAC had a mode of operation denoted as "Tactical" where you could not use the rear switch for signalling any more since it was sequestered into being part of the mode...

What was the last LED light you purchased and why?

The last light I bought was a Fenix PD36R. It's been a while since I bought a light because nothing really really grabbed my attention. I had gone from the newest which was the FD41 and went back to the TK20R which I like better. So when I saw a PD35 size light with 1600 lumens which took over 4...

Fenix PD36R 1600 lumens, my videos.

As far as I am aware, as long as it is a protected cell, it should be fine. Although I believe the led power indicator light in the button requires a Fenix brand battery. I have uploaded better night beam footage by using a body camera which functions better in low light. I did not engage night...

Maxpedition Single Sheath has a protective bonus for flashlights

Hey there. Just letting you know about a nice side-benefit of the Single Sheath by Maxpedition when you use it to carry a flashlight. My normal 5 Inch Flashlight Sheath from them has a square bottom which has a tendency to accidentally activate my light when sitting down in chairs with arms on...

Fenix PD36R 1600 lumens, my videos.

Hey there. I am a bit picky about the lights I buy these days in the sense that I want something from them, maybe more throw, or more flood, or more lumens etc. So when I saw a PD35 size light that has 1600 lumens I had to buy one. I got mine from myfenix.co.uk as usual. So I will post the 2...
