The 2C and 3C ML25IT are great little lights...if a bit bizarre as something to introduce in, what, 2016? I was (pleasantly) surprised to see them release any new incandescent products. I'm sure they would have done very well if they had been introduced before LED took over.
I have the 8.4 as well so might give that a go. For the 3x18650 set-up I'll stick with WA1185 for now which is much nicer...but once the couple I have are gone I'll need something else!
Great to still find new combinations to try in 2022, thanks for finding them @konifans
@fivemega I don't...
I'm interested to hear any other feedback on these bulbs.
So far I've tried the 10.8v (3x 18650) and the two Panasonic 3.6v bulbs (1x 26650).
10.8v was pretty underwhelming and looks like it could do with being overdriven more. Not as bright or as white as a Philips 7387 or 7388 on 2x...

If you really get down into all of the minor variations there have been many, many changes to the 6P. As noted above trying to establish an authoritative timeline and date all of these changes/versions is very difficult as production runs would often overlap.
The smooth boots came first and you'll also see different bodies on the "round body" 6Ps with the older ones (like OP's) having the knurling flush with the body. Later versions had a groove machined around the knurling at either end.
