    Drill or sand?

If I'm reading you right, this sounds like a good time to buy a reamer of the right diameter rather than either of the two other options. If you really need to have a hole that's precisely that size I wouldn't trust either a drill bit or a sanding drum. Also, how sure are you that the steel...

    Tritium

The size also matters. The smaller tubes are mainly useful as locators, but I can use my tritium sphere from B@rt as a nightlight once my eyes have adapted.

    1127LB vs PM1236

I think it's because each leg is +/- 120 deg out of phase compared to the other two? Edit: Now watch as I get this wrong because I didn't google it...

Many thanks to the professionals here...But is it Water-Proof?

He's pretty much correct, and it remains true for molecules of any size, it's just that the leak rates become extremely low (some say there's a theoretical limit, but no one's ever tested leak rates that low). Even a jar filled with water (or an empty jar submerged in water) will leak. It may...

New addition to the shop floor, aka basement

I just have to ask... what material is that in the second pic? Pattern welding a lot of different types of metal rod together is the only thing I can think of at the moment, and even that seems strange.

What are 14500 Lithium Ion Rechargeable batteries made from

In short, a 14500 Li-ion battery is made from a single Li-ion cell around 14 mm dia, 50 mm long. No coin cells involved. For what's inside said Li-ion cell, Norm's link is quite good.

Re: 2nd run - Piccolo Ti - Nichia 219 twisty AAA with trit and glow Although bear in mind that since it's near Christmas and all, delays may occur. I can't speak for the US system, but I'm personally tacking a week on to my usual estimates.

why aren't there 14500's with higher capacity?

Yep. Demand for most other sizes outside of 18650s is relatively tiny, so it's not worth it for a lot of manufacturers.
