    Gatlight V1 Mania

I also am a Gatlight admirer and have been very happy with my V3. It is a pity that Walter seems to have lost interest in this remarkable light, but times change and people (including myself) move on. Once the far east had become involved, the market for state-of-the-art expensive lights must...

    What do you EDC?

Once lights had got bright enough I found that a Wee NS on my keys and an original Nitecore D10 in my pocket were all I needed.

The Flashaholic's "Must-Have" List -- Cast your vote! PART 2

Well as an old timer, how about: ARC LSH-P ARC 4+ HDS EDC Ultimate 60GT Gatlight V3 These in their day were the best and arguably the most advanced lights at the beginning of the LED revolution. ARC started my interest in torches and by the time Lumencraft went quiet, I had moved on. It's too...

    Regulation Vs. Direct Drive

Indeed germanium. While having a few lights of both types, I must admit I rather like the reliable simplicity of my own Electrolumens FT3C (early version running wide open) and also the miniscule Wee NS just resistored to 50L. However on the other hand, regulation together with bells and...

What light is in your Glove box?

Mine none actually (I EDC a D10 and have a Wee NS on the keys) My wife's glove box = Olight T20T My Wife's (other) glove box = Electrolumens FT3C

    2008 flashlight of the year

My vote is for the Nitecore D10. I liked the look of it and bought one, retired my ARC LSH-P and have EDC'd the D10 for 4 month now with no regrets.

    Pet Peeves

Yes, thanks for that. What a fine example of intelligence in action.

    Pet Peeves

Pet peeves eh? In no particular order: Weather men / women on TV, they yap and waffle away for minutes on end when I just want to know if I need to take a raincoat with me tomorrow. Modern driving standards, yup the tailgater and light jumpers and the general pushiness and all those...

Any Twilight Zone (1960's) Fans here?

Yup I was a fan, though I was of course young then. It was made at a time when much TV seemed be worth watching, but now like many other things, it’s all just rubbish.

    What is your current EDC?

Nitecore D10 (which replaced an ARC LSH-P), and on the keychain a Wee NS 50 together with a Leatherman Squirt P4. At home I also usually edc a Leatherman Charge AL.

NovaTac 120T the best handheld LED light ever made???

Best? In what way best? How does one define ‘best’? Highest light output? Best technology? Best build quality? Best value for money? Sure the NovaTacs seem to be good lights and must be regarded as being somewhat near the bleeding edge of LED and power supply / control technology. Though as has...

Right now, what lights are on your person?

ARC LSH-P in a pouch on my wheelchair, Gatlight V3 on the desk next to the laptop.

LUMENCRAFT - POLARIS (formerly EOS) - lots of renderings

Hi Walter glad you are back, and with something stunning again. I have been enjoying my V3 Gatlight and now I can look forward to the Polaris Sapphire, please put me down for one if it‘s a go.

Early 1980’s Hewlett Packard led ‘flashlight’

Thanks everyone for the interest and the kind comments. It’s funny how one’s perceptions change with time and being a member of CPF. I had quite forgotten I had this little light, and in fact it only just missed being dumped in the rubbish together with a whole load of other stuff! But over the...

Early 1980’s Hewlett Packard led ‘flashlight’

I was digging around in my shed the other day and found this: It was given to me by an HP rep in about 1984 when I was buying semiconductors for a medical electronics company. We used to purchase thousands of leds and this little toy was to demonstrated their then new ‘superbright’...
