    Things that don't make sense

I'm sorry, I've been really busy recently. Is that OK with you? Once again you've got the wrong idea.

    Things that don't make sense

Translation: I can say any insulting and offensive thing I like about children who can't yet read and their parents because I have an excuse which I'm not going to explain. :fail: again. Do you even realise what you said - that if a child can't read they're either mentally handicapped or have...

    Things that don't make sense

I don't know where you're going with that, but the implication that kids who can't read are necessarily mentally handicapped is highly insulting. Oh look, a new smilie... :fail:

Looking for opinions on a decent 1xAA.

    That's probably a slight exaggeration. It's only slightly god-like.

    Things that don't make sense

I don't know why that particular 11 year old asked to have them read, but there are many reasons possible, few of which reflect on the parents. I happen to know an 11 year old who can't read (and who almost certainly wouldn't ask for subtitles to be read). Said child's mother has been...

    Any Cavers in here?

 I use a homemade thing. At 1,000+ lumens on high with a centre-weighted flood it lights up large chambers and distant roofs like nothing I've seen before. It's sadly not very waterproof :sigh: but was very inexpensive for its output. I have a friend who loves his HP10 so much he's...

    SST-50 driver, stupid question.....

:welcome: if no one has said so already. That driver is not suited as it is for driving 5 LEDs in series at around 800 mA, not one LED at around 5 A. I don't have any personal experience with SST-50 drivers but there are probably some suitable ones in my driver list - see my sig line.

For throw and versatility the C78 is quite good, and it now comes with a holster. Get one of those Nite-Ize switches and have several modes too.

How to make XPG throw further than XRE? Use a better Collimation! - A DEFT Clone Exp.

The thought occurs to me that to make a good heatsink you should add surface area, not just thermal mass. But I think you're marginally improving the thermal path to transfer heat from the base (flat) copper to the side copper.

The new "King of Throw" FINAL numbers

Re: The new "King of Throw of walking lights" FINAL numbers Ha ha. If this thing is a walking light does that mean it has a mode which is suitable for a decently long night walk (several hours)?

    They laughed, until.......

Re: They laughed, until... And the comments they make? "I didn't think it would be dark." "I didn't think we'd need a torch." (Emphasis added.) "I thought it would have lighting because the map calls it a tourist cave."

Wicked Lasers 445nm <1W Spyder III Pro Arctic Series

Re: Wicked Lasers 445nm 1W(!) portable deathray There are some posts in this thread that are a bit worrisome, including talk of pointing lasers at planes not being dangerous. Yes, we can quibble over the details about how intense the light is when a plane is however far away, but careless use...
