Fenix TK75 (3xXM-L U2, 4x18650) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, VIDEO and more!

There's blurb about the step-down in the user manual under the technical parameters chart. "Notice: The above-mentioned parameters (lab-tested by Fenix using ARB-L2 18650 rechargeable Li-ion batteries) are approximate and may vary between flashlights, batteries and environments. *TK75 will...

Why Led Lenser's flashlight so bad?

After getting a K1 in a kit with a leatherman Style CS, I learned that the beam is what bothers me the most. It's not just one company though, it seems like just laws of physics that a disadvantage to using optics is that the beam won't be as clean. The purple-ish tint and rings in beam almost...

Fixed Indoor lighting with Cree XM-L LED's

That's what circuit breakers/fuses are for. Remember though, they're not for protecting the component, they're for protecting the wire.

    Fenix TK60 question

+1 Except the TK41 is 8xAA. I spent 2 months trying to decide if I wanted the TK41 or TK60. I'm glad I went with the smaller TK41 because I still find it too big and can't imagine hauling a TK60 around.

    Fenix LD22 vs LD41

I disagree with this statement. They are in different classes, as exaggerated example, it's like comparing a shopping cart to a 18 wheel truck full of groceries. They both get food from point A to point B, but the scale that they transport on is completely different. If I had to pay for a...

    How to calculate runtimes?

You mean there's a flashlight that Selfbuilt hasn't done a review and runtime test on? Impossible!

Wanted: Highly efficient EDC flashlight, AA/14500

This is impossible given your runtime of 60 minutes or more. You'll find flashlights with a little more than 100 lumens for more than 60 minutes, but an 14500 won't last long that long when it puts out 200 lumens. The most efficient flashlights will be over $50. The only thing I can think of...

Olight X6 Marauder (6x XM-L, Rechargeable) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, VIDEO + more!

According to selfbuilt's numbers ,the SRX6 doesn't seem to be much of a thrower, I think you'd get better cloud bounces pics out of the SR90 or the SR95 series. I prefer a wall of light over tunnel vision myself, with a tripod stand, this would make a great portable worklight.

Looking for a top notch light

Keep in mind the XT11 only holds the 700 lumens for 3 minutes before it steps down. (same with other lights around this size such as the SC600). But on the other hand, unless it's for search and rescue, I don't think you'd find a need for 700 lumens for more than 3 minutes anyway though. I...

Looking for a top notch light

Pick the 2 most of the important of the following three: Carry size/weight | Battery Runtime | Brightness Due to the laws of the universe, you can't have more than 2 of these options without sacrificing the 3rd. From the form you filled out, I can't think of any flashlight that will fit what...

just ordered a dry 3xml 5mode cw from intl oudoor! :)

My interpretation of this is that the driver in the flashlight is NOT protected. This means that the flashlight will happily keep drawing power even when it is unsafe to do so, as opposed drivers which do feature protection which will stop drawing power when it is unsafe. Lights with a...

Olight X6 Marauder (6x XM-L, Rechargeable) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, VIDEO + more!

Just a comment about your video, at 7:30 I think you mixed up the definitions behind DC and AC power. Cars run off 12-14V DC power, not AC.

Diffuser Lens - Does it cause excess heat build up inside the host or drop in?

+1 I'm planning to get one myself and would like to know the answer to this question as well.

How many lumens is enough lumens?

I'd say after 25 lumens, beam pattern starts to become more important than output. I'd rather have a 75 lumen wide flood beam than a 100 lumen throw beam for everyday tasks. Tint also becomes important at higher lumens too.
