Update and Rough construction of polycarbonate flashlight case.
Sorry for not updating I've been busy lately and now that my schedule has cleared up I can go back to building my flashlight.
The parts that I have gathered:
>2.8 amp regulated driver with low, medium, and high light outputs...
Sorry that I missed your post I was typing a response to Fireclaw's post and I was interrupted, came back an hour later posted and then saw your post. Thanks for telling me about finding out the approximated run time! If I wire the batteries in parallel I can only get "1.2 - 1.4 volts" so can I...
Most of the LED mods I've seen on here used round solid aluminum billets, now with the angle bar or better yet with a aluminum square tube I can have some of it sticking out so it can radiate the heat away.
I just shot him an email. I want to squeeze as much light out as possible while running...
About the heat sink, is it necessary for it to have fins? When I went to dome depot yesterday they had thick aluminum angle bars that looked great for heat sinking. Also when I was there I got a big piece of polycarbonate which is 3/32 of an inch thick, I am probably going to have to stack...
I have this incredible itch to make my on flashlight but I have a list of questions that goes on for miles. I am going to describe to you the crude layout that I have in mind.
I have a 4 D battery holder from radioshack which is wired in series giving me 6 volts, now I wanted to run on this a...
I'm guessing by "remote phosphorous technology" they mean the inside of the glass/plastic casing is coated with phosphor? Does this also mean that the blue LED inside is omnidirectional? Or are they using optics/reflector inside to spread the light?
Side note: Who the hell came up with the...
Thanks for posting!
I was hoping during the last couple of years that I missed, something new came out but apparently not much happened.
Remember the aluminum foil lamp? Any updates on it? I can't seem to find any article after 2007. Bummer...
I've noticed that a lot of the new lighting technologies that are coming out usually require a secondary part in order to operate. For example plasma lamps and induction lamps need a magnetron/induction coil to work and LED lamps need a step down circuit so they don't burn out from the high...
Hello,
I am planning on modifying my current boots to have more traction on most surfaces. Now granite appears to be more wear resistant then the sheet metal screws that I use now for better traction, the only problem is how do I get the granite to strongly bound to the rubber(or have a strong...
I found that using .022" diameter silver bearing solder in a 0.5mm Pentel PD345 works when you want light marks and a unbreakable lead no matter how many times the pencil falls.
Also aluminum wire works, been using a piece of wire in a pentel RSVP for awhile now, but again light marks. Lead...
Looks like I can escape this LED and fluorescent purgatory after all!
Hopefully this doesn't fade away into obscurity like so many other new lighting technologies.
Is it really necessary to ban incandescent lights? Are they going to straight out ban them? Or scale down the production of...
Out of all the years I have been to the roosevelt field mall, I have never notice a mont blanc store before:ohgeez:
Thank you iTorch and Monocrom.
PS. I saw a picture of what the inside of the store looks like and..wow. I think I should buy a tuxedo before going there.
Hello,
I have a Mont Blanc fountain pen No. 32 which I lost a certain part of the pen. I was wondering if there is a place were I can buy replacement parts for the pen.
Thanks.
I have seen red, green, purple, and blue head lights as of lately.
I think the purple and blue head lights are high tempture HID bulbs do to there intensity. But the question is has any body else notice this?
Thanks
