    UltraFire AAA woes

I checked my Ultrafire 602C out after reading your post. My unit draws almost 1200mA Also, it will not even fire up if the OPEN circuit voltage falls below 1 Volt! This is obviously not the world's most efficient convertor. The LED can be easily replaced, but that won't help ya much. The other...

Seems like my C Crane QC has croaked!

PJS and eluminator I agree with both of you guys.. :D My Saitek (looks exactly like eluminator's) was bought from Rat SHK. back around 1994, I think. I like -and still use these units because of the completeness of the charge they give.. unlike the BC-900 for example...

    Charging 17670 using nano?

Yup, I used to do it that way before I bought a larger unit. Only bad thing with the physically smaller charger was the lower current level, obviously taking longer to complete the charge.... :green:

anyone used a 2032 lithium ion battery?

@vortechs You're correct about the minimal voltage sag when using the LIR type cells. The same seller that I buy from is ccwhouston also... -Check out his new ebay auction #190013837979 I just ordered 5 cells for 9.95 +2.49 postage -He has about 6 x 5-packs left to sell. Another LIR seller...

    Ultrafire 1 watt AAA Review

If the circuit cuts off operation at 1 volt, you will certainly soon have a 3.7 v Li-lon with very little service life left in it. It won't explode, but it probably won't take anymore charges either..... :green:

    Ultrafire 1 watt AAA Review

The one real weakness of this light turns out to be it's up-converter. :( I cannot get this light to activate on any AAA cell that has less than 1 volt (open circuit). The very same 1 volt cell EASILY operated both my Micro-illuminator AND my Lambda Pocket illuminator! -IMO this...

    Ultrafire 1 watt AAA Review

I just tried my AAA Li-Ion cell -measuring 3.91V open circuit in the Ultrafire. Result: (in my arbitrary comparison of light units) The measurement jumped from 245 minilux -with fresh alkaline to: 395 minilux with the Li-ion. BUT.....the light became very warm after about 45 seconds of use.
