Please move this from budget forum to regular forum. Having a Surefire here is pure blasphemy. A fatwa needs to be issued on OP's head :-)
It is a joke! I hope nobody gets offended and hands me a "vacation" for this reply.

Costco likes to keep the prices of their items around $20, so I suspect that is what the 8 batteries will cost us. Little on the higher side as previous deals from Costco used to have around 12 batteries in them.
Any reason why you went with BOB? Does BOB ship it quicker and/or cheaper than DX? At DX forums, I have not heard of any problems with the EF-23 light and I suspect they must have sold them by boatload.

Do you have Quark Mini? If so, can you run the experiment to find the tailcap current for 1 NiMh vs 2 NiMh? That will tell you if it is current regulated or not. An external forum (budget flashlight forum; not the CPF subforum with the similar name) had posted the runtime graph of F23 and it...
Given that the dishwasher needs to be replaced, would you mind dumping an el cheapo light there to see what happens to it? You probably do not have any DX/KD light around but how about a lowely MagLite? Please sacrifice one for the sake of CPF community.
If it gets shreded, Surefire wins. If...
