New H53c AA Headlamp Neutral White High CRI!

    Folomov EDC C1

Just ordered one -- my first new flashlight in years! I was on a rather long (7 years :faint:) hiatus from CPF, haha. When I first saw the ad on FB, it almost looked too good to be true! Glad it's living up to the hype, and I'm looking forward to playing with it :)

    New Petzl NAO !

Wouldn't that mean that in full daylight, the headlamp would be at high output? In most cases, a high amount of ambient light means you'd want to power down your headlamp. Obviously, there are exceptions to this... Cheers Woodentsick

    Show your High CRI Lights

Correct. Warm white LED's (80+) typically have a higher CRI than cool white LED's (70+), but High CRI is something else altogether (85 to 90+). You can have warm white LED's which are high CRI but you can also have cooler LED's which are high CRI.

Funny thing about Zebralight hi CRI efficiency

My Zebralight SC51c has almost no noticeable PWM on any of the levels, while my SC51w definitely has PWM on almost all levels. However, PWM doesn't bother me as I am not sensitive to it...I like my SC51w better :) Woodentsick

Night trekking with McGizmo Haiku & Mule high CRI **PHOTO Intensive**

Pjandyho, Thanks for another superb High CRI trekking photo thread! I always love to see real-world lighting in the outdoors, as opposed to white wall beamshots. I especially like the photos of the Mule HCRI, it seems like a flood of sunlight in your hands! Once again, we appreciate your...

Quark high CRI lights available, at long last!

Re: Quark high CRI lights (once again) available, at long last! I ordered a High CRI Quark Mini AA, and I very much hope it's yellow like an incandescent! After seeing the pinkish warm on my previously-owned Malkoff M61w module (which I didn't like), I got scared of trying out 'warm' LEDs! I...

    Please help me decide...Zebralight SC51c or SC51w?

Hello, funny I should see this thread now... I have owned the SC51w for many months and the SC51c for a few months. As soon as I got the SC51c I decided to use it instead of the SC51w (thinking it had a nicer beam and better color rendition). However, just yesterday, after a long period of...

Data in CERN experiment suggests that neutrinos MAY travel faster than light

True, scientists should be looking from a neutral POV. However, we certainly haven't 'proven' any of Einstein's postulates, because it science, nothing can be proven, only that the theory fits it with current and past experimental results. Th232 pointed out earlier in this thread that if the...

Data in CERN experiment suggests that neutrinos MAY travel faster than light

I respectfully disagree. Physicists, in fact all scientists, are always looking for new knowledge. I personally think that many, if not most of the physics community is hoping that the results are correct, because that would open up another exciting avenue of knowledge. Woodentsick

    HDS Systems EDC # 15

It might not make sense to you, but PoliceScannerMan may have wanted a simpler flashlight with fewer moving parts for increased durability and ease-of-maintenance and self-replacement of parts. Of course, this is just my guess on why he prefers the Clicky.

    Can anyone explain this statement:

I think he means that while the 'R2' has a uniform output, the 'R4' projects light over a greater area (i.e. floodier). Or, maybe he means the R4 has an even more uniform beam than the R2.
