Turning Your Favourite EDC light into a headlamp

For something that didn't take me any effort to come up with I've set my expectations very low. I don't expect to have it stay put while riding a bike, or while running because it definitely won't be able to do that. All I expect is something that is better than holding the light with my teeth...

Turning Your Favourite EDC light into a headlamp

I bought a small AAA flashlight and needed a way to turn it into a headlamp. After thinking about it for a bit, I realized that I had a "hands free clip" that came with the Photon Freedom keychain light I bought many years ago. It's basically a clip that can be used to attach the Photon to the...

    Toaster Ovens

Sounds interesting :D Did some toast today, the edges toasted way faster than the middle. Baked some small cakes too. Edges rose slightly faster than the middle and turned pleasantly crispy.

    Toaster Ovens

So I bought a Black and Decker a few days ago based on the replies here. It was the most basic model that had and ran for $30. Hopefully it'll last me a long time with care. Our family did a slab of steak in there and it turned out great. Much better than the old way of just putting it in the...

    Toaster Ovens

I've been looking into getting a toaster oven lately and I just wanted to ask everyone here if you have one and if you find it useful. I have zero cooking ability and can't imagine myself using the oven built into our stove (we use it to store pots and pans :sssh:. I was thinking I could make...

For those that know NYC, your advice please

I've found myself in that situation often too. As you said it is troublesome with the long blocks. You may want to bring a small compass with you, it will probably be much handier than a flashlight.

    New Recruits

Making it seem normal to carry a good flashlight is the key. When they're about to ask you why you carry a flashlight around with you or why you are obsessed with them you do a pre-emptive attack. Say "What kind of person doesn't carry around flashlights with them? Everyone I know carries at...

For those that know NYC, your advice please

Keep it simple, just bright one or two small lights. You don't want to be carrying around any extra weight with all the walking you're going to be doing. I just carry one Photon Freedom on my keychain for those rare emergencies.

who do ya think is the best mass made flashlight company?

One more vote for Maglite. Like Jim says, they have good service and the quality isn't just reasonable, it is downright superb. The design is robust and timeless.

    Cloverfield aka 1-18-08

The day flashaholics inherited the Earth eh? The camcorder had some kind of nightvision mode, that was interesting. Do camcorders really have features like that?

    Q5 upgrade for Lumapower M1?

I also am interested in this. I have the original M1 and the LED module has a plastic covering over the Cree board. Does this just pop right out?
