    Form factor vs praticality

Interesting topic. All lights are a compromise. You either give up small size, output or runtime. My AIMP (Always In My Pocket) is an AAA light. 2 modes, reasonable output and runtime. The nice beam and neutral tint are a plus. But I have many other lights CAT (Close At Hand). These include...

Silly things you did in your early years

Re: SILLY THINGS YOU DID IN YOUR EARLY YEARS It's not the silly things that I did when I was young that impress me. It's how lucky I was. I still do silly things. I just don't have as much luck. But I'm lucky I have good health insurance.

    Tom Bihn - post here

I have a Filson zippered tote bag. 21 years - I bought a year before my son was born. More than 2 million miles. Early days it was filled with baby food jars (very heavy). It's been everywhere and done everything. Doesn't look new. But it doesn't look old and worn out. Tough as nails. Just used...

Are there any Japanese flashlight manufacturers?

There is so much light pollution in Tokyo and other cities that you don't really need flashlights.

Most Lights Purchased in a Short Period of Time

Swiss Post stops most of my boxes, opens them (for a fee), looks for an invoice and then charges me tax. I get a slip and pick up the lights and pay the fee and taxes at the post office near my office. I was deep in a binge one time and the light was kept at the central post office - not the...

    pens anyone?

I also have an Inka. Clipped to the key chain holder in my back pack pocket. Good for quick use. But that step 3 to make it a full size pen is more than just a few twists. Reliable pen when I don't have anything else.

Not paying for your train fare by ignoring the ticket inspector.

In Switzerland, they don't check tickets on every train, bus or tram. But when they do check, you get a 100 CHF fine if you don't have your ticket. They also make it very easy to buy a ticket - iPhone app is great.
