It's Summer again. Every summer my lift (elevator) gets baking, baking hot because it's not air-conditioned and constantly burns 4 x 20W halogen bulbs. It also costs us more than US$100 to run those bulbs per year and I am told that our lift service people cannot or will not convert them to...
Just be careful. It may be illegal to drive without lights at night. Obviously you won't be pulled over by another cop, but you may find yourself defending a civil action or a disciplinary hearing if you are involved in an accident.
I have a Spiderfire IR flashlight. That does the job for messing about at 3W and was very cheap. To significantly upgrade, consider a proper collimated source.
In military terms, one wouldn't want to be emitting any IR wavelength at all, seeing as every man and his dog are carrying intensifiers.
Unsuspecting girlfriends however, can't see the further wavelengths. Unless they also have night vision.
I know there are HK-based enthusiasts here. Please help. I am looking for reasonable quality NVGs and an IR camera set up. I am trying to catch some poachers who are illegally logging sandlewood.
Does anyone know of a good low priced night vision supplier in HK? Not an ebaly reseller, but a...
I need to know the best way of dealing with excessive current drawn through CR123s.
I am experimenting with 20W and 50W 12V halogen bulbs and a stack of CR123s. I am overdriving the bulbs to 15V with one extra CR123 cell. The bulbs seem to handle it without complaint. The cells cannot handle...
Thanks for the laughs. Oh how I want to try that for myself for real. I reckon you'd need a lot less than that amount of lighting to achieve ignition.
Say, I have a BIIIG question. I found this thread googling for calculation inputs.
A halogen bulb is supposed to have an efficiency of...
Re: Who doesn\'t collect Flashlights
I'm kinda borderline. I have more flashlights than strictly necessary, but I don't buy just to own and I have no plans for building a coherent and intentional collection.
Hi,
I have an old 3D Maglight I love the form factor. Unfortunately, technology has moved on quite considerably since the 1980's and my slightly less old (1990's) SF 9P p*sses all over it in terms of performance.
With today's advanced technology, it should be possible to build a monster...
