I have a 3-axis cnc machine

I'd like to experiment with some different shaped convex/concave lenses, but I have no idea how to fabricate them.

They don't have to be crystal clear or perfectly shaped, just enough for me to see how the light bends through them and to determine focal points.

I was thinking of cutting a little mold and then poring some type of material into it. Then using a vacuum to try to suck the bubbles out.

Anyone around here have any advice on how I might achieve the best results? What materials melt easily or what epoxies dry clear?

Thanks

Not sure what you would use for a mold, but, you can cast clear acrylic resin fairly easily. Depending on the thickness, you might have to pressurize it to get the bubbles out.
