Like vicv said; Mag 3C with FM G4 socket, KD aluminium reflector & glass lens. Phillips 20 or 30W G4 halogen. Run that on 2x 21700s & with an NTC in the tailcap to prevent the bulbs from blowing on full batteries (I learned that the hard way from members here). You can also use a 10W for more modest (but still bright) output & better runtime. Very practical setup with long throw.

Where do I find myself the NTC (is that soft start?)

my last hotwire build, was 90 Watt halogen osram 64558 overdriven with 5 cells, (close to 200w) in a maglite with 2.5in FM thromaster, after that every other hotwire looks lame.

yes, my mistake, 64458.

3-4 hours according to destructive tests, but battery runtime is about 10-15min, but since It has almost 0 practical purpose, i run it very rarely, i have not blown a bulb yet,

Not needed, you can comfortably hold it about 4-5 inches away from the head, it does not run long enough to heat up more. but you can feel the heat at upto 10 feet in front of it.
