Is there an available equivalent to the Fenix FD40?

Hi. I use a pair of Fenix FD40s for videography and love them. Needing continuously variable output, I stuck an ND filter (1-8 stops) on each. So they net 500 lumens or less each.

The filter is to not spook flighty video subjects by bringing the light up slowly.

These lights are critical and so if one fails (they are heavily used), what else is there? I can't find anything with such a generous zoom range and a 1/4 20 thread mount.

Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

I don't know much about camera lighting but Lupine Betty has a mount and takes filters. You don't always need 5400 lumens and can use different modes and levels of brightness.

Wow that is an incredible device. Nice suggestion! I see 55mm wide angle attachment lenses that will fit but none that are variable and none that will narrow the light cone.

I usually use the Fenix's narrowest beams as fill for subjects. Occasionally the second is used for wide coverage.

The price... well o_O

Not that I haven't spent good money on gear. I will surely keep this one in the back of my mind. Thank you for helping!
