Hey all,

While it's not a particularly mind blowing workaround, I figured out a way to make a maglite dive host without the use of a lathe (well, without buying one that is)

You'll still need some atypical tools, so it might be 6 one way, half a dozen the other.

The heatsink, maglite lens, and o-ring upgrade were all purchased through 350xfire at tlslights.com

I chopped the maglite as described here: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/378066

The one task that eluded me was the maglite head shave mod to accommodate for the larger lens.

Because I didn't want my hand too close to the spinning wheel of death, I used a quick clamp to hold it.

So, all I needed was a drill press (which I bought used off of Craigslist for $75) and a $6 sanding pad.

Now, I'm moving on to see how many drivers and LEDs I can fry!

Thank you all for the help, thoughts, and ideas that have been posted here.
