i have a 10 year old handheld garmin GPS thats works fine but the display screen has become crazed and difficult to read. if i wet it , it works fine, so i am pretty sure its just small crazing on the surface of the synthetic screen.

any ideas on how to polish this out. im thinking anything that would polish a small mark off a torch lens would work. its getting to the stage where it is 'fix it or ditch it' and id rather fix it.

any help or interest appreciated. cheers.

Theres several plastic polishing compounds on the market. The one I've used is a brand called Nexus and is a three step process.
Step one is for the heavy scratches, two is for finer and three is for the final polished finish.
You can also try to contact the GPS company and see if they offer a service to replace the hazed screen.
Best of luck!
