The optics of the MH15 arrive protected by transparent plastic.
Nitecore MH15, built in PC material and aluminum alloy, has a very compact body.
YCQ1BidD_o.jpg
The total length is just 117mm with a weight, with battery and clip, of 140g. It's very simple to put it in your pocket or jeans. The design of the flashlight body is nice even if it sometimes tends to slip in the hand.

The internal battery, which cannot be removed by the user, is a 5000mAh Nitecore 21700 lithium battery. With this battery the maximum autonomy reaches 200 hours and with the average level of 50 lumens it covers the entire 24 hour day.
This choice by Nitecore is certainly little appreciated by many users.
However, if we consider that the turbo level of 2000 lumens lasts a few seconds while the high level of only 350 lumens, certainly the most exploitable, has a duration of almost 7 hours before the battery runs out, we can think that the autonomy with this level it covers almost the whole night without needing to recharge the MH15.
Charging time in QC Mode, measured by me, is around 2 hours (2.6A max). When fully charged, the standby time is about 12 months.

On the head of the Nitecore MH15 we find a smooth bezel and an optic that uses a lens system with various facets and a Luminus SST40 LED to provide a maximum output of *2000 lumens *.
The alluvial beam covers a maximum distance of 250 metres.

Nitecore MH15 can be used as a Power Bank to recharge a mobile phone or other electronic devices (max 5 V/2 A).
In the sales package we find the USB-C to USB-C charging cable for connection to the electronic device.

Nitecore MH15 has only one switch in the tail. The metal button is small in size with an audible click.

Around the button there are 4 status LEDs, blue in colour, which indicate the charge status of the integrated battery.

Also at the rear is the USB-C charging port protected by a rubber tab that can be easily opened by the user.
In the sales package we find a USB-C to USB-C charging cable for charging. I would have preferred to find the classic USB-A to USB-C cable considering that not everyone has a charger with USB-C output.

During the charging process, the four indicators will gradually turn from flashing to solid to show the battery level.
When the battery is fully charged, the MH15 will stop the charging process and the power indicators will remain constantly lit to inform the user.
While charging, the lighting function is available (TURBO excluded).
At the tail we also find space to insert the supplied lanyard.

USER INTERFACE (UI)
wsg7JJTY_o.jpg
The use interface of the Nitecore MH15 is simple. MH15 has 4 brightness levels in addition to the 2 special Beacon and SOS.
Turbo 2000 lumens, 45 minutes*
High 350 lumens, 6 hours and 30 minutes
Average 50 lumens, 24 hours
Low 5 lumens, 200 hours
BEACON 2000 lumens
SOS 2000 lumens
  • The autonomy of TURBO is tested without temperature regulation.
We then go from the highest level, the Turbo of 2000 lumens, to the High level of only 350 lumens.
Between these two I would have preferred there to be an intermediate level of 800 or 900 lumens that was certainly more usable than the 2000 lumens Turbo which lasts a few seconds.
Instructions for Use
• Power On: When the light is off, long press the Tail switch to turn it on.
• Shift: When the light is on, short press the Tail switch to cycle through the following brightness levels: LOW - MEDIUM - HIGH - TURBO.
• Turn Off: When the light is on, long press the Tail switch to turn it off.
• Lock: When the light is on, long press the Tail switch until the light flashes 2 times to indicate entering Lock Mode. In Lock Mode, the lighting function is not available.
• Unlock: In Lock Mode, short press and then long press the Tail switch until the light flashes 5 times and enter the stored brightness level to indicate the unlock status.
Note:
• The MH15 has a memory function. The flashlight will directly access the previously stored brightness level when it is reactivated.
• The MH15 will be automatically unlocked when charging in Lock Mode.
Special Modes (SOS / BEACON)
• When the light is on, press the Tail switch three times to access SOS.
• When one of the special modes is active, short press the Tail switch to switch between SOS and BEACON.
• When one of the special modes is active, long press the Tail switch to turn off the flashlight.
Power Indication
• When the light is off, short press the Tail switch, the corresponding power indicators will be on to indicate the remaining battery power.
• Please stop using the product and charge it as soon as possible when the power is low to avoid damage to the battery.
State of the Charge Level Indicators
4 Constantly on 75% – 100%
3 Constantly on 50% – 75%
2 Constantly on 25% – 50%
1 Constantly lit 0% – 25% (Please charge the product as soon as possible)
Use as a Power Bank
The MH15 features a USB-C output for charging an external device such as a power bank.
Connecting to an External Device: Connect the MH15 to an external device via the charging cable through the USB-C port to begin charging. (Output: 5V⎓3A / 12V⎓1.5A)
Note: If the battery voltage is too low during discharging, the MH15 will automatically turn off the output to prolong battery life.
ATR (Advanced Temperature Regulation)
Built-in ATR technology adjusts the MH15's output based on working conditions and the surrounding environment to maintain optimal performance.
BEAM and RUNTIME
1JPGfnqr_o.jpg
Nitecore MH15, in the wall test, has a beam without obvious artifacts with a hotspot and a corona of color tending towards yellow-green. The lighting angle is wide and the beam is alluvial. By eye I don't see any significant PWM in any of the four modes. The start of the spill is adjacent to the walk.
D0BfOJFS_o.jpg
From the tests carried out with the OPPLE Light Master Pro, two meters away from the sensor, the value of the color temperature CCT and the color rendering Ra varies, as has already been seen, depending on the level of selected light. Taking an average I get a CCT color temperature of around 5100 and a Ra of around 62.
In TURBO (2000 lumens) the measured CCT value is 5150 while the Ra is 62.3. Duv = 0.0156
J0j4I7GA_o.jpg
Nitecore MH15 has decent Turbo power, but the duration is short. The high brightness of 350 lumens allows you to walk safely with a good close-up overview.
OouJZJZG_o.jpg
The values in candela (lux/1 meter), found by me with measurement at 5 meters, are slightly lower than those declared by the parent company.
L52HKk1e_o.jpg
The Runtimes were carried out in an internal environment with a temperature of approximately 24°C, using the internal battery, a fully charged 21700 5000mAh battery.
I would like to point out that the values expressed by the graphs must be evaluated above all as a reference because they were made with means and conditions different from those used in the laboratory.
Runtime tests and adjustments are fair.
In TURBO (2000 lumens) there is a sharp drop in luminous flux immediately after turning on the MH15. Less than 3 minutes after switching on, the brightness stabilizes just above the High level of 350 lumens for almost 6 hours before starting to decline due to battery exhaustion. Once you reach the low level (5 lumens), a few hours pass before it turns off.
In TURBO ventilated mode I did not notice any changes compared to the test in TURBO without ventilation.
In HIGH (350 lumens) mode you immediately have constant brightness for up to almost 7 hours after switching on. Here too, two stepdowns subsequently bring the brightness to the low level (LOW 5 lumens) for a few hours.

VIDEO: Nitecore MH15 Unboxing and Use

CONCLUSIONS:
Nitecore MH15 is a flashlight that focuses on the essentials for safe night outings with the added function of power bank to recharge our mobile phone or electronic device if necessary.
MH15 has small dimensions, is compact and does not weigh much, equipped with an excellent clip it is easy to insert it into a pocket or attached to a backpack.
The use interface is simple, in my opinion there is no intermediate level between the high one of 350 lumens and the turbo of 2000 lumens. The electronic lock is present to avoid involuntary switching on.
The 5000mAh internal battery, as written in the review, is not replaceable. As we know, this choice by Nitecore is little appreciated by many users. My considerations are not, in this case, negative considering the levels and brightness available for which MH15 will be exploited.
In conclusion, Nitecore MH15 is a practical and compact product with decent brightness and good autonomy. A good purchase if found at a fair price.
Thanks for reading the review.
