You can also use an electric stove elem,ent to generate the heat needed for a nice tite clean wrap
Thx for the tip; I'm late to the thread I know, but without any other heat sources handy, I used my electric stove burners no prob. Just singed the fingertips a little. :-/

For shrinking the wrap, I use this: Master Appliance EC-MINI Heat Gun - it has 350 watts of power and can reach a maximum temperature of 640°F. It also has a 9.9 CFM airflow to help you get work done fast. It comes with a small half circle heat shrink tube reflector that would be fine for AAA and maybe AA sized batteries, would be nice to find a reflector for this gun large enough to at least do an 18650. But even without a reflector, it's quick and easy to handle.
