Nice write up. What size mcpcb did you use to replace the old one?

good question, I use the 12mm x 1.5mm

they are thicker than stock aluminium mcpcb that is 12.6 x 0.9mm
I center the LED by eye, by sliding the mcpcb on the thermal paste.. and then pressing it in place..

if you look closely at the bezel before and after you can see the slightly larger gap

Looks great. I knew you wouldn't have it long before going to a HCRI and not surprised you went with the 519a. So much better than before.

sometimes things just work out easily. The lack of glue was a joy. And Im really pleased with the warm LED.. Winner!
