Well I was pleased this morning to get my XR-E MR11 Fatman kit from cutter (rather surprised really because this was not the deliver address I'd given) but this soon turned to depression upon opening the package and finding a CCxW V4 PCB (think it's the 350mA version) and not a Fatman PCB. Is this PCB any use at all for driving these or have I got another wait while they send the proper parts out?

Edit: just looked at the spec for the Nat Semi 2675 regulator it uses and it's only step down and not a boost PCB, no good to me :(

Impossible to answer your question until you answered it yourself. Yes, the CCxW will drive three emitters. But it is a buck. The Fatman is a boost.

I have the same problem. Got it all installed and until I tried to power did I realize I had the wrong driver from what I ordered. I've sent 2 e-mails to cutter and no response. All I can say is buyer beware! I guess whoever is send these orders out doesn't know what they are doing.

I also have two kits that shipped with the CCxW. Mark responded to my email and said he wanted me to take pictures because they have never had CCxW drivers in stock. Cutter is shipping me fatmans and taking back the CCxW drivers. I hope that they will respond to your emails soon!

I just got an e-mail from Cutter saying they are sending out a new driver today and asked me to send the CCxW driver back to them.

I wonder if they got a bad batch from TaskLed...

Blasphemy:crackup:

No bad things come from Taskled -sounds like just a mistake was made with driver choice.
Cutter had run out of drivers last week and were awaiting more.

Cheers
Dom

Um - "bad batch from Taskled"...

Yeah, that's it, the Fatman driver morphed into a CCxW driver :)

Not to point the finger at Cutter - but he orders drivers from me, I generally ship them as panels. He puts them into inventory and then ships individual drivers as they are ordered by customers.

Given the Fatman is a round boost converter and CCxW is a rectangular buck converter - it seems pretty obvious that if you ordered a Fatman and you were shipped a CCxW that Cutter made a simple shipping or kitting mistake.

cheers,
george.
