I'm looking for a flashlight for trail use at night in the woods. Is there much difference in the beam of 600Fc 90-degree floody compared to the 600w 80-degree spill with the 10 degree hotspot? Which would be better for woods use?

the SC600w will throw further for seeing distances. You can put scotchtape on it or make something to diffese the light if you want the floodbeam profile. You might consider going for the H series though for hands free capability...

Pretty significant difference. Not only is the glass diffused, but on the FC it uses a larger LED. The FC with xhp50 led will be very floody, great up close with no hotspot. If you want to illuminate further than 5-6 meters away from you, the sc600w is a much better option. They are two very different lights.

Thanks everyone. I ended up with the SC600Fc because I have a thrower (Tiablo A9) that's always with me in the woods. Who knows, maybe I'll get the SC600w at some point. Thanks again!
