I have a quite meager student income, and looking for ways to increase it a bit (to buy more flashlights :)), and was thinking about buying some stock. I havent done any research at all yet, but...

It will be quite a change for you mass-wise; the Jetbeam weighs over three times more than the Streamlight, but you can't beat stainless steel durability.
I used to watch that show every week on our local PBS outlet. They dropped it last year though - guess the re-runs had run their course.
I have the XT11 too. Well built and its very bright. Its true about the anti-roll ring which is easily prone to crack. But thats about the only complaint
What's your electronics experience level? Can you assemble a simple circuit and do you own a soldering iron and meter and such? You can purchase a ready-made
I couldn't make up my mind either. I liked the infinitley variable ring control of the RRT21 and the tail cap switch of the XT11 so I wound up with both.

PR 20 is the bulb designed to be driven on 7D batteries.
There's plenty of custom builders that could help you out, but be aware that you're talking about taking a ~$100 light and doing ~$100 worth of mods/labor/shipping
