The split ring is by far the weak link in the tether. You can replace it with a shackle or quick link or cordage to make a stronger tether. I would bet

eagletac warranty

Contacted eagletac regarding there warranty.The electronics they refer to is the circuit board that is only covered for 12 months.Noticed a bit of confusion
