  • ds960, hello. Yes, that's VERY common with lights that use the aspheric lens. I have a LensLight mini, cost me around $150 bucks, and when it's adjusted for it's tightest beam, for "throw", the beam profile is the EXACT shape of the emitter in the light. Have a look in my Google web album here: https://picasaweb.google.com/104252042808694732344/LenslightMini?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCOu405jd_7rY8AE&feat=directlink And like I say, those LensLights aren't cheap. It's the aspheric lens, and in your light they did a damn fine job with it, based on your photos. Enjoy that light. There's nothing wrong with it! LOL Have fun.
I do have one question: why can you see the "wafer" or "die" of the LED when you set the adjustable lens to it's tightest position? I figured since the light was so cheap, it had something to do with the optics. Thanks for your kind words, BTW. Have a nice weekend, sir!
