Incidentally, the B1 versions is/was slated to run on twenty (20) CR123 batteries. That's over $72 in batteries using the pricing on SureFire's web page. The burn time is 80 minutes, almost a dollar a minute of operating cost without amortizing the purchase or repairs & lamps.
I have no idea who would pay a dollar a minute to use a flashlight. Even Arctic search & rescue teams seem unlikely to find this attractive.
The only flashlight I know of more expensive to operate is the M6/HOLA.
PS. I realize SureFire's battery prices are very high.
